5月26日 My "Lovely" WifeHere is a description of my wife's crazy day when she took her flight to visit me. It can be called "CLASSICAL". Her flight is 5 pm. I called her 2:30 and told her, you should go early since she planed to park her car at the airport, which she has never done before. Then around 3 pm, she told me she has to go to school since she forgot her wallet there. Then she went to school and unfortunately, she came across her boss and talked for 15 minutes. That was pretty close to 4 pm when she took off from school. On her way to the airport, she was lost on highway and drove to the opposite direction. Eventually, she got off highway and got back the right direction. It was 4 pm already at that point. She drove fast and when she got off the highway from the airport exit. She found the roads there changed completely. She was supposed to go to the parking lot. But she thought she got on another highway after she took the airport exit. Fortunately, it was not highway and she got to the parking lot at 4:15. An airport shuttle took her to the terminal. It was part of my fault, I did not check-in for her online. Basically the rule is you cannot check-in online 1 hr before departure and you cannot check-in in the airport 30 minutes before departure. So GOOD! She made it and got to the kiosk at 4:25 pm. She can still check-in! HOWEVER, she could not find her ID. She found somebody took all her cash and driver licence in the wallet. The thief did not take any gift cards and credit cards. After a couple of minutes of desperation, she was told she can pass the security after a special screening. So finally at the security checking point, a lady checked her thoroughly and finally let her go. Finally, she got on her plane and it closed the door after she got on. The take-home messages are:
5月13日 Donation for Sichuan天天看新闻，心里就难受。在国外啥也不能干，只能捐点钱（别瞎捐，当心上当，看好组织再捐）。国内的红十字网站实在上不去，就捐到了北卡的CAFA，一个华人组织。 http://cafanc.org/donate/ 这个donation好像还可以tax deductible，虽然不知道怎么work法。Anyway，自己的钱应该想法交给中国，不能给美国鬼子，让他们到伊拉克去烧了。 真希望我能献血给国内的伤员，唉。。。。。 看到BBS上有人抱怨中国政府反应慢，这种人没事就去旮旯抽自己两嘴巴。看看美国新奥尔良，看看他们啥反应速度；看看中国政府，看看中国的子弟兵。第一批空降兵150人，已经有4人牺牲，10人下落不明。都是人呀！想想就心酸！也希望中国政府能在事后处理好牺牲烈士家属的生活问题。 感觉作为中国人很自豪！ 5月10日 Billy's Bootcamp
